How are students assessed in a dance class?
Students will receive several grades for each 9-week period.
They will earn a Participation Grade of up to 100 points for coming to class and working their hardest. This includes listening while others are speaking, dancing with all of their energy and focus and participating in discussion both as a whole group and peer-to-peer.
At the end of each unit, they will also be given an assessment on the skills they have acquired. They may be small group skills tests, group choreography projects, or I will assess them as they work in a whole group setting using a checklist of criteria.
